In 2023, Rudi and Carmen van der Westhuizen took the reins at The Village Butcher, bringing a new energy and a wealth of experience to our Hauraki store.

A Family Tradition Originally from South Africa, Rudi and Carmen have meat in their DNA. With over 20 years of experience in the butchery trade, they have spent decades perfecting the art of cutting, curing, and aging meat.

For them, this isn’t just a business; it is a family passion. As a husband-and-wife team, they pour their heart and soul into the shop every single day.
